We wish a "thank you" to residents who supported our campaign

Your Conservative ward councillors and Member of Parliament, Saqib Bhatti MP have welcomed progress in reopening the Minor Injuries Unit at Solihull Hospital.

The reopening of the MIU is a first step towards better service provision in our borough.

Three additional theatres together with the replacement of three existing modular theatres will result in a provision of 13 theatres on the Solihull Hospital site. Construction has already begun, with the MIU expected to be completed and open by June 2023.

Further details of the announcement are given on the NHS University Hospitals Birmingham website.

Saqib Bhatti MP said;

I really welcome the progress that has been made to get the MIU reopened at Solihull Hospital. I have been lobbying the integrated Care Board for better access to healthcare and more GP appointments.

It has been an honour to serve as your local Councillor for the past 12 years. I am also Deputy Leader of Solihull Council and have spearheaded initiatives that have positively impacted our community. One of my proudest achievements was leading the campaign to bring back the Minor Injuries Unit at Solihull Hospital, which had incredible support, garnering 11000+ signatures on a petition I launched - this demonstrates the importance of accessible healthcare in our area.
