Uncertainty remains over Solihull Police Station

Deputy Council Leader Karen Grinsell and local Conservatives will continue to fight to retain a police station

The previous Labour Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) first announced in 2018 that Solihull Police Station would close. The current Labour PCC then reconfirmed this intention following his 2021 estates review, and the station set to close sometime at or after autumn 2025.

Residents were outraged at plans to shut the station and have campaigned alongside local Conservatives to ensure a police station is retained amid rising crime rates.

It was hoped that with the current Labour PCC recommitting to maintaining local policing that this decision could be reversed. However, there has been no communication about the plans for the station and no news about any potential replacement - leaving local residents deeply concerned about policing in the town.

Local Conservatives will continue to campaign for a Police Station in Solihull.

It has been an honour to serve as your local Councillor for the past 12 years. I am also Deputy Leader of Solihull Council and have spearheaded initiatives that have positively impacted our community. One of my proudest achievements was leading the campaign to bring back the Minor Injuries Unit at Solihull Hospital, which had incredible support, garnering 11000+ signatures on a petition I launched - this demonstrates the importance of accessible healthcare in our area.
