Crime and anti-social behaviour are among our top concerns. I believe that providing additional youth activities needs to go hand in hand with more visible policing and enforcement.
Low Council Tax and maintaining quality front-line Council services are my priorities. I will use my qualifications and life experience to drive down Council costs and reduce bureaucracy.
I am a member of the Solihull Council's Resources and Delivering Value and also the Children's Services and Education Scrutiny Boards. I am also on the Council's Audit Committee, the governance board of the West Midlands Pension Scheme (public sector pensions) and the West Midlands Combined Authority Audit Committee. I am a Chartered Accountant who has lived with my wife in Solihull Borough for 27 years. I am delighted to have this opportunity to put something back into our community.
I support my fellow Conservative Councillors' efforts to clean up our parks in order to achieve Green Flag status. I will work with the Council and community groups to improve the amenity. I will be vigilant to protect our green spaces from inappropriate development.
I will promote local businesses and jobs.
I will be alert to additional through traffic or parking problems brought about by HS2.
I will encourage schemes for better home insulation as well as "levelling up" our community housing.
