Solihull's name is commonly thought to have derived from the position of its arden stone parish church, St Alphege, on a 'soily' hill. The church was built on a hill of stiff red marl, which turned to sticky mud in wet weather

Councillor - St Alphege with Monkspath and Hillfield
It is a privilege to represent my home ward as your councillor. I have lived in Monkspath for 39 years and have very close connections with Cheswick Green, Tidbury Green, and Dickens Heath, where family members live. In short – your concerns are my own concerns.
